Iron and Manganese can be removed catalytically using an iron removal filter. The filter media could be granular media or a resin media.

Pyrolox works through a natural catalyst reaction whereby hydrogen sulfide, iron, and manganese are oxidized on the surface of the media. Trapped particulate is then removed from the media bed during the backwash cycle.
